Leadec is advancing sustainability as it expands its range of services in the EV battery industry.
Batteries are the central – and most expensive – components of EVs. In the past, when a battery failed, it had to be replaced with a new one and the old unit completely recycled.
Today, some Leadec sites are able to extend a lithium-ion battery’s life by replacing only the defective component. If a failure of individual cells is found, for example, it is often sufficient to replace the affected module. After successful repair, the battery again undergoes rigorous end-of-line testing before being returned to the customer.
Not only is repair cheaper than producing new batteries, but it also conserves resources. It’s all part of our vision to be the leading service specialist for the factory of today and tomorrow. That factory of the future is digital, flexible – and sustainable. Learn more about our commitment to sustainability.
